Kindergarten and Toddlers
Since its opening in 1999, the Taman Rama Kindergarten has had a strong commitment to the development of high standards of International Education. Many steps have been implemented to involve all aspects of education and we have had excellent contributions from the teachers, parents, students and the general community to assist us in pursuing this aim.
To meet the required standards of International education a number of developments and innovations have been introduced to the existing education system.
I. Curriculum Development
The Kindergarten school uses a bilingual system of education. English is used 90% of the time for instructional and communication language in the classroom. This allows the children to become active with English from an early age.
English lessons are taught by native English speaking teachers and cover all aspects of development. The aspects of childhood development which follow the national curriculum include:
1. Moral Science and religion
2. Social, emotional and Independence
3. Language
4. Cognitive/ Mathematics, thinking skills and problem solving
5. Physical development and motor skills
6. Art, Craft, Music, Dance.
The six subjects are taught using a thematic system. Daily lessons are integrated into classroom and outside activities, which allows the students to be able to:
1. Behave accordingly and independently with confidence in all activities.
2. Use accurate and correct English to effectively express their opinions and thoughts.
3. Develop students’ ability to critically think and solve problems.
4. Control body movements and promote physical development.
5. Encourage growth through imagination and learn to appreciate the arts.
